Story: Look before you leap

Once upon a time, there was an old and tired lion, he realised (एहसास हुआ) that he still (अब भी) wanted to get enough (काफी) to eat, he would have to try some other cleverness (चालाकी) method (तरीका) with least force (जिसमें कम ताकत लगे).  

So, he pretended (बहाना बनाया) to be sick and retired in his den (शेर का गुफा ). Then, every time whoever (जो कोई भी) comes to visit (मिलने) him in the den, the lion used to attack the visitors (मिलने वालों) and eat up खाकर खत्म) . 

In the same way (उसी तरह से), it was the turn (बारी) of the fox, but the fox stayed (ठहरा रहा) at the entrance (प्रवेश द्वार) of the den. ‘Do come in (अन्दर आ जाओ), fox ! said the lion cordially (हार्दिक रूप से) . ‘Thank you, but I would not like to come in because “I can see many footprints (पैरों के निशान) going in, I cannot see any footprints come out!”

It means, the fox said, “Mr. Lion! whoever went inside the den, you may have eaten them”, saying this (यह कहकर) the fox ran away (भाग गया) from there.

Moral:

Your own eyes can be your best witness.
